In this column published in Our Sunday Visitor, Father Tad addresses alkaline hydrolysis. He acknowledges the concerns surrounding certain newer methods for disposition of bodily remains. While cremation or other potential approaches may be permissible under certain circumstances, Father Tad points out that the Church encourages and generally prefers whole body disposition of human remains. This column preceded and dovetails in a timely way with the U.S. Bishops' recently issued statement: "On the Proper Disposition of Bodily Remains."
