Father Tad responds to timely efforts by dioceses to address transgender issues in the Catholic community and to establish helpful diocesan guidelines and policies. He discusses rising concerns facing parents and educators over gender dysphoria and how to guide those under our care. Father Tad acknowledges the complexity of social and personal pressures as well as the real concern that those who have gender dysphoria are at an elevated risk of suicide. He offers that parents and others should not affirm false ideologies out of fear. He reminds us to turn to Christ who understands our humanity more profoundly than we do and to actively seek out psychiatric and professional support rooted in a Catholic anthropology.
