In this article from The National Catholic Register, Father Tad acknowledges that there are circumstances in which cremation, organic reduction or alkaline hydrolysis may be permissible. However, it is vital to the honoring of the deceased and showing respect for their remains that the cremains be properly buried in the ground. When possible, whole-body burials are encouraged by the Church and considered preferable.
